Jeans Day at

Old National Bank

May 19, 2017

The ever-popular “Jeans Day” among Old National Bank employees is celebrated monthly at ONB locations in Indianapolis and surrounding areas by wearing blue jeans to work that day.   Supporting this non-traditional fundraiser, bankers and employees of ONB swap customary bank attire to wear jeans in support of a charity especially selected for that day.  To wear jeans, employees pay $5 – the $5 going directly to support the charity.  To donate, employees can deposit directly into the account of the selected charity if the organization has an account with Old National Bank.  They can also go directly to the website of the charity to make donations online.  One other way to donate to the selected charity is by dropping off a check to Diana Drehmel at the Zionsville branch on 103rd and Michigan Rd.

“Jeans Day” at Old National Bank for May 2017 will be on Friday, May 19th.  This month’s charity is The DAK Foundation Inc., an Indianapolis-based charity created to assist pet rescuers with their veterinary bills.  The foundation works specifically with dog rescuers.  Founded by Arnie Goldberg and Cissi Sherlock in April of 2016, The DAK Foundation Inc. has already connected with pet rescuers, fosters, shelters and donors from Florida to California.  The 501(c)(3) Not-for-Profit foundation has helped rescuers in Westfield, Indiana, Indianapolis, Indiana and Clearwater, Florida.  The DAK Foundation has received donations and book orders from across the nation helping so many more through empowerment, education, activities, projects and sales.  The various DAK projects designed to continually raise funds to support the foundation can be viewed at a link on the website.  The DAK Foundation can also be reached by calling 317-844-2202.

The primary source for fundraising for as the foundation strives to help pet rescuers pay their veterinary bills, is through the sell of a very special set  of book, “Dak-isms, Quotes from a dog’s viewpoint” and “The DAK Coloring Book.”  In “Dak-isms” the young mascot of The DAK Foundation, Dak himself and some of his friends, offer common sense and often whimsical quips about life – as a dog would see it.  “The DAK Coloring Book” is a way to keep both children and adults engaged in fun and pun!  Sold individually and great as gifts, DAK books can also be ordered in multiples at a discount and sold as fundraisers for other charities and causes.  Co-branded books for small businesses, corporations and charities provide the opportunity for sales professionals and business representatives to share an enjoyable “permanent brochure” that clients will never throw away!  DAK books are available at Dak-isms website and will also be on sale at a discount both online for “Jeans Day” for Old National Bank employees and at select ONB locations (TBA) for the general population to purchase.

A very special division being formed by The DAK Foundation Inc. is Veterinarians4Veterans as “we help those who've helped us.”  Currently overseen by former American Legion Post 249 Commander Marshall Terrell, V4V partners veterans with rescue pets with veterinarians who accept DAKGrants.  As well, V4V will assist with other special resources for our armed forces heroes, their pets, war and law enforcement service dogs and will play an active role in fundraising overall.

With all this going on thanks to Old National Bank, The DAK Foundation has decided to declare May 19th “DAK’s Day!”  Representatives from The DAK Foundation will be posted at select ONB locations with adjoining Starbuck’s to take donations supporting the foundations, to offer “Dak-isms, Quotes from a dog’s viewpoint” and “The DAK Coloring Book” at the discounted rate of $5.00 each and to offer information on upcoming events with The DAK Foundation.  Patrons will be able to order in bulk and learn more.  Inquiries on co-branding your business, church or organization can also be made.
